Too Tired

Current mood: bearmood — tired exhausted
This insomnia is really starting to get to me. Add a sinus headache to it that just wouldn't go away and I didn't accomplish squat today. OK, that's not entirely true. I went to several print shops today to get bids for the client. With the prices that you can get for stuff on the Internet, I don't see how these smaller local shops can stay in business. The total cost for 2000 postcards on the net is about $375 and local shops charge from $850-$1000+. The quality of the cards on the net appears to be better, also. How stupid is that? The shipping is another $20 or so. I know it is my client's fault that the cards aren't ready, but why should he have to pay that much more than he needs? So, I went back to school and talked to the teacher. She's willing to extend my deadline as long as the online printer provides a hard copy proof that I can turn in on the due date. Sweet! I will be soooo glad when this module is over. I've never been so apathetic about a class as I have about this one. A couple of days ago, I didn't even care if I failed. Oh, well. It'll all be over by Thanksgiving.

OK, I've got to try and get some sleep. Wish me luck.

‘Bout Damn Time

Current mood: bearmood — cheerful slightly relieved
I've finally got pictures, return address, stuff I need to actually finish this project and the client is willing to pay extra (it was his fault, after all) to get enough stuff printed on time so I can pass my class. I'm not totally relieved yet, (that will be on Nov. 24 if I have something to turn in) but I feel a whole lot better than I did yesterday morning.

That Was It?

Current mood: bearmood — sad disappointed
Just got home from going to see The Matrix Revolutions. I'm feeling really disappointed and let down. The third and final should've/could've been a lot more than it was. Certainly wasn't worth the serveral months of waiting. Oh, well.

Morons

The people of Aurora are so damn stupid. Paul Tauer has been mayor here for as long as I can remember and people bitch about how the city of Aurora is run. So when they have a chance for change, what do they do? They vote for his son, Ed. Granted, I didn't get into the election much because even though I live in the city limits, I still don't feel like an Aurora resident. I have yet to change my license info (it's been a year, I really should do that), so I couldn't vote. Maybe the other candidates sucked, I don't know. I do know that good things can't come from having another Tauer in office. Oh, well. I do know that when Marcus and I finally do buy a house, it won't be in Aurora.

Warning: Geek Humor Ahead

I absolutely LOVE FoxTrot and the cartoonist Bill Amend (he's a mac guy!). The following is an example of why. If you don't get it, sorry, you're not an HTML geek. I get this and Helen, Sweetheart of the Internet in my inboxes daily from uComics.

BTW, I got six hours of sleep. Whoohooo. Marcus is off to see Matrix Revolutions at the IMAX with all his friends from work along with Mike. He's going to take me later, so I guess I'll go make dough early and get it over with.
