My turkey came out really weird yesterday. I've never had such a strange bird. They must've really injected it with fat to plump it up or something, because there was more than 12 cups of juice/grease that came out of the pan. Then the meat all peeled away from the bones and it wouldn't slice. It just feel apart. It was good, just weird. It's not like I brought a weird off-brand or anything. It was a Honeysuckle White, just like I get every year. Oh, well. I also made this
shrimp stuffing. I used tiny cocktail shrimp instead of large shrimp. That was soooo good.
Have you seen the new Hokey Pokey Elmo? I just saw a commercial for it. Too damn cute.
I'm also watching a French Vanilla Cool Whip commercial. I bought some of that for my pumpkin pie this year. It was quite tasty.
Why do people all flock to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving? Are the deals really worth it? I was watching the "mall parking reports" on the news this morning. I'm not going anywhere near a mall today. With leftovers and everyone at the malls, we're going to be really slow at work tonight. Whee.
Man, I really feel like crap today. I wish my lingering illness would just become full-blown sick and then I could get over it. I guess I better get dressed and try and get something done before I have to go to work.

I heard a version of this joke on 850 KOA's Sports Zoo yesterday. The following text for the joke was found
here.
A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory. The personnel manager explains her duties, and tells her to report to work promptly at 8:00 AM.
The next day at 8:45AM, there's a knock at the personnel manager's door. The assembly line foreman comes in and starts ranting about this new employee. He says she's incredibly slow, and the whole line is backing up.
The foreman takes the personnel manager down to the factory floor to show him the problem. Sure enough, Elmos are backed up all over the place. At the end of the line is the new employee.
She has a roll of the material used for the Elmos and a big bag of marbles. They both watch as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles, and starts sewing the little package between Elmo's legs.
The personnel manager starts laughing hysterically. After several minutes, he pulls himself together, walks over to the woman, and says, "I'm sorry, I guess you misunderstood me yesterday. Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles."

Current mood:
bored
Man, I was sooooo freaking bored today. I have all this stuff I need to do, but I just couldn't make myself do anything. Ok, I did manage to load the dishwasher before I went to work. I just plopped my ass on the couch and watched tv and dozed off and on. Oh, well. I'll more than make up for today's lack of action tomorrow.

Has anybody ever soaked a turkey in brine prior to roasting? Every year I see this on various television channels and wonder if it really makes a roast turkey better. If anyone has ever tried it, for better or worse, leave a comment and let me know. Thanks!
