Doping?

If it hasn't been painfully aware yet, cycling is important in our household. Marcus had a gentleman's bet with his best friend as to the Tour winner. It was no surprise that Floyd Landis became embroiled in a doping scandal. Charges were levereged against Lance for every single one of his Tour wins. The claim is that Landis' testosterone/epitestosterone ratio is off. Nevermind that the ratio has been changed this year from 6:1 to 4:1, that some men naturally produce more testosterone, etc. I shouldn't have been brought up unless the secondary tests proves something amiss. I hope that Floyd is cleared of these accusations, but I guess it's something you've got to get used to if you're an American cyclist.

PHAMALy’s The Wiz

I saw the most awesome play the DCPA's Space theater yesterday. In fact, that show is the reason I am still blogging now! My friend Chrissy offered to take me to see it. One of our former teachers from Platt was performing in it. It was a production of the musical The Wiz perfomed by a group called PHAMALy (Physically Handicapped Amateur Musical Actors League, Inc.). I believe everyone in the case has a disability of one sort or another. The lead of Dorothy was played by a blind woman and her seeing eye dog. The Tin Woman was in a wheelchair. Here's a video report from 9news about the play. My old instructor is the one that played The Wiz. I knew beforehand, but that man can sing! I was moved because here are people facing stuggles far greater than what I have to face and they're out there living and doing what they dream and I really have no excuse why I don't.

I’m Going to Get Behind

Man, I need to quit talking to Marcus or I'm going to end up missing a post. LOL

I really can't think of a damned thing to write.

One Step Closer

Well, I know I'm getting closer to the end since Marcus is up and about after his late night of computer gaming with his friends. LOL

I have a sudden burst of energy. I'm not sure how long this will last, though. Hey, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I wrote before about how I was upset about the feral rabbit situation in Reno, NV that one person was blogging for. Though not as bad, we have a similar situation here where I live. The cat population is out of control. There are two women I know of for sure that feed them and encourage them to reproduce under everyone's homes. Several times last night I heard cats fighting outside my window. People have come in and tried to trap them, but the problem quickly resurfaces. The city's animal control won't do anything about them. There are no predators for them since the foxes, racoons and coyotes are well-fed otherwise. In fact, I've seen them hanging out together. It's sad. They're a real nuisance.

Man, it's taking me forever to churn out a tiny post.

I’m Getting Too Old For This

My mind said buying Coke when I haven't had much in a while would be a bad thing. Why, Oh why do I not listen to my little inner voice?

One final pet in the house that I need to talk about: My lovebird, Kane.

She, and a parakeet, were given to me by a co-worker that was moving and his new apartment didn't allow pets. I had no idea what kind of bird she was until I looked it up on the good old Internet. Marcus named her after the WWF wrestler than used to wear the red leather face mask. We just assumed it was male until she gave a horrible sqwak one day and out came an egg! I have no idea how old she is. She must've been mistreated because she bites! I'd love to let her fly about, but I don't dare.
