Finished

HP Deathly Hallows CoverNo spoilers ahead.

Well, I finished reading the book about a half hour ago. I've been mulling over my feelings about it. I've got one word: unsatisfied.

I'm going to bed.

Just a Few Hours Longer Until HP…

0 Days Until Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsThis is it, folks! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows day! Those who bought their books at midnight are happily reading away while I (not-so-)patiently wait for the postal employee to deliver mine.

Fortunately, I have a few errands to run this morning that will eat up a bit of my time. I also need to get to seriously promoting the Blogathon. That's just a week away. I need to finish up my new template and put up links to my gracious sponsors. It's going to be a busy weekend!

I hope I'm not disappointed in how it all turns out. I have to keep reminding myself that it's only a book and these aren't real people. I know many characters are slated to die, even a few we've come to love. I just hope that the ending isn't one of those like you see on fan fictions sites where everything ties up too nicely at the end and you shake your fist shouting, "Things don't wrap up that nicely in real life." Wait, this isn't real life...must keep reminding myself of that. Anyway, I'll know how it all finished up by this time tomorrow.

I'll share this Joy of Tech cartoon that was posted yesterday. Remember yesterday how I said Marcus has been telling me the ending? Apparently his idea was rejected (lol) — his ending (more or less) is in the final pane.

1 Day Until HP and the Deathly Hallows

1 Day Until Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsWell, less than a day and I'll be reading my copy of the final Harry Potter book.

Marcus keeps telling me how it's going to end. Of course, he's making it all up.

He offered to buy me a copy at midnight so I could get to reading, but I can wait just a little bit longer until my copy comes in the mail tomorrow. I'm sure at midnight I'll be wishing I had taken him up on his offer. LOL

My book arrived at the Commerce City UPS facility this afternoon, according to the tracking number. At least I know this year that it will actually come USPS and I will be checking the mailbox instead of sitting here looking for a brown truck.

2 Days Until HP and the Deathly Hallows

2 Days Until Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsIn two days I'll finally have the book in hand and have hopefully read a good portion of it. I was weak and started looking for spoilers. Fortunatley I hadn't found any yet when I made myself walk away from the computer. I was always the one searching the house when I was little looking for the hidden Christmas presents. I'm not good with being patient and waiting. I really wish I could skip work tomorrow, though, but I can't skip out because it's payday (another reason we should have direct deposit-lol). Fridays are long enough on a normal week without my constant obsessing over this book.

Wizarding WeeMee

Heh, you can dress your WeeMee up to celebrate the release of the final Harry Potter book.

I chose to go with Ravenclaw colors because I'm pretty sure that's the house the sorting hat would put me into. I'm book smart. That's probably where I would fit. Besides, blue is supposed to be a good color for me. I wish they had offered a Hogwart's castle backdrop or something, though. Too modern a looking school background, but it's the only one that kind of fit.

Harry Potter in the Comics

Oddly enough, this time around I haven't been seeing a lot of references to HP in the comic strips. Mugglenet is pretty good at posting when one has been found. I did finally see a reference to book 7 over at Joy of Tech:
