Good Morning

Wow, I've got a lot on my plate today! I finally broke out of my depression a bit last night and started taking down my Christmas tree. Yes, it is still up. Not a smart move with a real tree. I need to finish that today. I need to try to get some of the stains out of the carpet. I'm going to make myself pack up Skippy's things. I glanced at them the other day, noticed they were empty and had to stop myself from filling them up.

Marcus' boss and her husband have some business they need to attend to in our area, so we're going to meet them for brunch later. I need to get off of this computer and get ready so we can leave when they call that they are done.

It's so freaking cold! It was 0°F yesterday morning when I went to work and had warmed to a mere 4°F as I was driving back home. It's below zero right now (different sites are giving me different readings) and will remain this cold for a few days. Yuck!

I need to develop a plan to get more money coming in now. I want to be out of the stupid mobile home park.

OK, I need to get moving. Much to do. Have a great Saturday everybody!

Low Cost Blank Shirts

Sponsored post:

Even before I went to work at that screen printer a couple of years ago, I've always dreamed of having a business selling printed shirts. I'd prefer to do embroidered ones, but I'm open to carrying silk screened ones, as well. I found a site called CheapesTees.com that I could use as a source for those garments. They carry all the industry name brands that I became familiar with when I worked at the screenprint shop: Gildan, Hanes, Anvil, Fruit of the Loom, Jerzees and many more! They also carry different types of blanks besides regular T-shirts such as polos, pocket T-shirts, sweats, fleece, tank tops, long-sleeved T-shirts, dress shirts and hats.

The company, in addition to selling blanks, offers screen printing and embroidery services. The have a a special flat $5 fee for embroidering logos on polos (up to 8,000 stitches/min. 48 garments). Not too shabby!

At the prices they offer, it would be practical to supplement my own wardrobe through them, too. I loved painting my own shirts and would love to start doing that again. You can get a T-shirt for as low as $1.68, polos for $6.84 and free ground shipping on orders over $69. They even offer bulk discounts. You can't find prices like that locally. I think I'm going to get some Hanes Tagless Tees. I love those and at $2. 58 for white or $3.68 for colors, you can't beat the price!

Terragen

There was a PPP opp today that I didn't take, but the content of the site that wanted a review reminded me of something from awhile back. When I was in school, my web design instructor also taught the advanced computer illustration class. He was playing with a program called Terragen, a free scenery generator program that can be found at Planetside. He was creating some really cool effects with it. I had intended to download it and play with it, but that guy rear-ending us put my life on hold for awhile and I totally forgot about it. I'm glad I was reminded of this program's existance.

Winning With Winzy

Remember about a month ago when I wrote about a new prize search engine I had found called Winzy? Well, I didn't know it, but my friend Shalla signed up through my little button over in the sidebar. I got an email from Winzy today telling me that she had won a $10 Amazon gift certificate and therefore I was eligible for a prize, too. Yay!!! I took the iTunes certificate instead, so:
THANK YOU, SHALLA!
Won't you become my Winzy friend, too? Just click the little button below and sign up. When you win, I win. When your friends win, you win. How cool is that?

Thursday Thirteen 75/16

Yesterday Steve Jobs announced during his keynote address at Macworld that the rumors were true. Apple, Inc. (no longer Apple Computer, Inc.) has indeed developed the iPhone. I usually wait for stuff like this to become a couple of years old before I get one, but I'm seriously contemplating getting one when they are released in June.

Thirteen Reasons I Want An iPhone

  1. It's made by Apple. I love Apple's products. They're easy to use, functional and visually pleasing.
  2. The screen can be either landscape or portrait. The screen orientation changes depending on how you hold it. I think that is genius.
  3. It has a 4GB hard drive. That's the same drive size and the iPod nanos. That's quite a bit of data you can have with you.
  4. It's a mini computer. It runs apps, has OSX, etc. — all in one tiny little package.
  5. It's relatively affordable. It's proposed $500 price tag is in line with other models of "smart phones."
  6. It has a camera. I really would love to have a camera phone. It featues a 2 megapixel camera and a photo managing application.
  7. It is an iPod. While I just got an iPod for Christmas, I don't always want to have to carry two devices around.
  8. Google Maps. I love using Google Maps. There are many times I wish I had access to it while out running errands. You can also call from your phone right from a map lookup.
  9. WiFi. Not only can you connect to the Internet via your phone plan, you can connect via wireless networks.
  10. Touch Screen. You control everything by touching the screen. A keyboard even comes up when you need it. Clever.
  11. Visual Voicemail. You don't have to listen to all your VM at once. You can pick and choose on the screen.
  12. Widgets. I have some great widgets installed on my desktop. It would be great to be able to check for the cheapest gas while you're out and about.
  13. It's a PDA. Calendars, email, etc.
