A Q and A for Bloggers

frykitty asked everyone to help out Suzi at The Write Coast, so here's my answers:

  1. Male or female? Female
  2. How long have you been a blogger? Five years and one month
  3. How would you categorize your blog, as far as subject matter? Personal
  4. What blogging software do you use, and what do you like/dislike about it? I use Expression Engine. I like how versatile and customizeable it is. I wish I could do protected posts with it.
  5. What's your preferred time of day to blog? Whenever I can fit it in!
  6. If you read other blogs, what types do you prefer? Ones that are informational or humorous.
  7. Do you have favorite blogs that you read faithfully? About how many? I read about 30 on a regular basis.
  8. How important is "comment love" (i.e., getting lots of comments on your posts) to you? Not very. If it was about comments, I would've quit a long time ago (I don't get very many).
  9. Do you tend to estimate readership of your blog by the amount of comments posted? Nope, I look at my stats.
  10. How important to you is the style/design of your blog? It used to be more important than it is now. I used to change my design for every season. Now, I just try to make it presentable.

What I Like Best About My Life

The best part of my life is Marcus—my soulmate, my best friend, my reason for being. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I feel like a piece of me is missing when he is not around. He has faith in me, even when I have none in myself. He's resourceful, he's hard-working, he's smart. He's wise beyond his years, yet still a kid at heart. He's my protector, my confidant, my lover. We've been together for 14 years, yet we never run out of things to talk about. I still get a rush when he comes home. His entering my life was the best thing that ever happened to me.

OK, he's going to be embarrassed by all of that...sapfest over.

Gratitudes

In the new path I'm trying to take with my life, it is suggested that one concentrate on what you have instead of what you do not. I've spent my whole life focusing on what is missing in my life...until Marcus, it was a man, career success, money...the list goes on and on. Especially after reading though some people's stories and what I witnessed at the musical I saw today, I really don't have it that bad. So, here goes:

Gratitudes
  1. A supporting, loving partner and best friend in Marcus
  2. A Kind, Wonderful, Supportive Father
  3. A love for learning

The Places of My Youth Are Gone

On my way home from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts today (I'll write about why I was there later), I noticed that a Denver landmark is gone. There was a flower store on the corner of Franklin & Colfax Ave. called Fannie's Flowers. It is a brick builidng, painted white with green lettering. It has a unique architectural style. It has character. Now, the building stands empty, the paint peeling. It made me sad. I don't drive down Colfax often, so I hadn't noticed that the flower store had gone out of business. I've lived in the Denver front range area my whole life. It was one of those places that was just always there...and now it isn't.

Kevin Smith is Hot

Is it weird that I find Kevin Smith incredibly sexy? I check his blog a couple of times a week. I like his movies. I love Dogma. I can't wait for Clerks II to come out on DVD ('cause I can't stand going to movie theaters).
