I've been meaning to do this forever. As soon as a little extra cash is around, I'm going to start growing my own sprouts. I love bean and alfalfa sprouts. I hear broccoli sprouts are pretty good for you, too. You never really know how long the ones in King Soopers have been hanging around and nothing tastes yuckier than an old bean sprout. I found a site called
SproutPeople where I can get sprouters and seeds online.

Except for eggnog, all the supplies for next week's feast have been laid in. As usual, the only sucky part was having to go to Kmart to get the Kellogg's stuffing. Why is that forsaken place the only place that carries that? Grrrr. I'm going to make the Orange Cranberry stuff for sure. This will be the first Thanksgiving that we don't have cranberries from a can. Man, the cost for the feast was more than last year. I wonder if fuel costs have contributed to that? I will it was next week. I love cooking!

I can't find anything online to link to, but the Wendy's by where we work is giving away small Frostys when you buy a meal. It's supposed to be going on all week. If I find anything to link to, I'll revise this.

Two weeks from now, a lot of us Americans are going to be busily preparing our yearly turkey feast. I was poking around the Internet looking for new recipes to try and I came across a site with the most wonderful
Thanksgiving Treats. I would love to serve this
Brandy Pumpkin cake. It sounds so yummy:
It's a rich blend of pumpkin, cream cheese, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves that has been gathered together and then soaked in brandy to give this decadent dessert a spirited richness with spicy undertones. And talk about moist, you can eat an entire piece without ever having to reach for a glass of milk.
I probably can't swing one in time for the big feast this year, but I'd love to get one of these
Spirited Eggnog cakes spiked with rum for Christmas.

Over at
Jesser.org yesterday, Jess posted about a place called
Chedd's. They make gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. At the moment they only have locations in downtown Denver and over in Littleton. If I'm ever in those areas, I may check them out. I hope they put one closer to my side of town, though, because I'm intrigued. I love grilled cheese sandwiches. Mimi's made a pretty good one that I tried for that brief stint that I worked there, but it was on the expensive side.
