8 Days Until HBP

Just a little over a week to go! I can't stand the suspense!

I saw a funny cartoon on Mugglenet today. I found the cartoonist's actual site and here's a link to his cartoon called "Will Brendel and the Book 6 Fanaticism." It gave me a small chuckle.

BTW, I'm still awake because not only is there a dog barking, but the bratty children are screaming on the trampoline. God, I hate them all.

9 Days Until HBP

All right! Nine more days. I like the skin that Miss Zoot has for the Half-Blood Prince. Change the skin to default if you don't see it. I'll do a screen cap tomorrow to save it for posterity.

I'm a late-comer to this whole Harry Potter phenomenon. I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone quite a while after it had come out in paperback and liked it well enough. I didn't understand the hysteria about the subsequent releases. In fact, I didn't read the other four books until after Order of the Phoenix was already in paperback. I am so hooked now, though. I told myself when I finished reading the last one that I could wait until the next one was out in paperback, but...I can't wait. I'm an addict, I admit it. I've read the first five more times than I can count in the last year. I check the HP fan sites daily. I go to J.K.'s site weekly to see if there are updates. Absurd? Maybe. Entertaining? Definitely.

I've got until Monday to order my book to have it delivered on Saturday, July 16th. Must remember to order it after Friday's payday.

10 Days Until HBP

I'm beginning the official ten day countdown to the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I'm excited to see what kind of new things show up (if anything) on J.K. Rowling's site in the next few days. I'm wishing I could go to one of those big gala release parties, but I'll probably just pop into the Tattered Cover to see if anything interesting is going on and then have my book delivered from Amazon.

I shall re-read the previous five books in the next week and a half in eager anticipation (and to clean out any fan fiction residual that still clutters my brain).

Very Interesting

(Warning: link not work safe—possibly offensive adult content)

I visited this Harry Potter Playwitch link I found over at So Very Posh. Very interesting Playgirl parody. I have one question: What is up with all the fan art and fan fiction that portrays all the male HP characters as gay? Especially Snape and Harry. It's disturbing, I tell you. I remember reading a fanfic over at Mugglenet once that had Harry and Draco as gay lovers. Too bizarre.

Speaking of Mugglenet, they had quite the humorous April Fool's Day prank. I clicked my bookmark and was greeted by this picture:

I was shocked because I thought Mugglenet did everything with Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling's blessings. I didn't even make the connection about an April Fool's prank since it is still March 31st here. LOL

HP Withdrawl

I'm going through serious Harry Potter withdrawl. I wish that July 16th would hurry and get here (four months as of tomorrow)! I'm watching Sorcerer's Stone right now, but I need a book 6 fix!

The other day Marcus and I were out and a car passed us with a "My Other Car Is A Nimbus 2000" bumper sticker. I said that it couldn't be. "Why not?" he asked. "Because a Nimbus 2000 is a broom. If you read Harry Potter, you'd know that!"
