It’s Been Here All Along

I am not in a good mood. I've forgone sleep, stayed home all damned day, kept checking my UPS tracking number that kept saying my book was "In Transit to Final Destination" and where has my book been probably all day? In my mailbox. See, I hardly ever get the mail unless I'm expecting something important. Marcus usually picks up the mail, so I don't bother. Marcus is in Winter Park today, though. It wasn't until I was reading articles about other possible delivery problems through Google News that I came across this Bloomberg.com article that said UPS was delivering the books to the USPS. So, I check my mailbox and there it is. I. Am. So. Pissed. Shouldn't I have been notified by somebody that this was going to be the case? Either by Amazon or by UPS? Amazon is going to get a pissy email from me about this. All I was given by Amazon was a UPS tracking number and UPS still doesn't even list the thing as having been delivered. What a crock. I could be halfway done with the thing by now.

I did go out and get myself one of those Green Tea Frappacinos from Starbucks. Not as good as the strawberry or mocha ones, but it's tasty.

OK, off to read me some Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Don't expect to hear from me until I'm done.

Where Is It?!

Where, Oh where can the UPS man with my book be? My tracking number says the package left the Commerce City UPS facility at 9:30 this morning. Watch me be the last stop on the route! I need a nap badly, but I don't dare drift off to sleep for fear I won't wake up when he gets here. To pass the time, I caught the end of The Amityville Horror on tv. I thought I had seen it before, but I guess not. That was one BAD MOVIE. It was so disjointed. If I had't read the book, it would've made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I forgot to post about this yesterday. I declared yesterday Half-Blood Prince Eve Day at work yesterday. I was listening to Harry Potter music and constantly searching the Harry Potter related sites that I frequent. The art director asked me if I had seen the Harry Potter skit they had done on Saturday Night Live with Lindsay Lohan. Since I don't watch SNL much anymore, I hadn't seen it. Thanks goodness for the Internet. That was hilarious!

Edit:

Potter parties were a bust last night. I went to Barnes & Noble and nothing was going on. People were getting their pictures taken with the big cardboard cutout advertising the book, some kids were running around in lame costumes and that was about it. People were mostly just sitting on their butts waiting for the book to go on sale. I couldn't even get a Starbucks beverage because it was packed. I left and headed for the Tattered Cover. Stupid me forgets that there is a night life in Denver...especially on a Friday night...especially in Cherry Creek. I couldn't find anywhere close to park except the paid parking garage (I missed a day of work this week and can't afford to pay to park). I could've parked at the mall, but it didn't feel particularly safe to walk by myself from the mall's parking garage over to the Tattered Cover that late at night by myself. *sigh* Oh, well. Maybe I'll be in a better financial situation when book 7 is released and I can go to one of those really big, really cool ones.

Nothing happened on J.K. Rowling's site either. That sucked.

0 Days, 8 Hours, 26 Minutes to HBP

In just a little over 8 hours, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will officially be available. Of course, I have to wait longer because I elected to order it online, but so be it. I'll just pass the time more quickly by getting two day's worth of dough done so I don't have to go anywhere near work on Sunday morning. Then I can not be interrupted in my reading by my having to go to work. How's that for a plan?

I know I've been a little silly with the whole countdown thing, but hey, it got me to post every day so that I would use the little pictures I made!

There was a link to this comic called Sore Thumbs today on Mugglenet that had to do with someone's HBP countdown frenzy. It was pretty funny!

1 Day, 7 Hours, 56 minutes Until HBP

I'm stuck at work with nothing to do again, so I'm listening to Harry Potter music on my iPod.

Amazon is getting the books ready for shipment:
From: Amazon.com
Date: 14 Jul 2005 07:28:53 -0700
Subject: Your Harry Potter Order Is on Schedule

Hello from Amazon.com.

We're happy to let you know that we've begun preparing your order for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" for delivery.

You should have the book(s) in your hands no later than 7:00 p.m. in your time zone on Saturday, July 16. Most books will be delivered by U.S. Mail, either with your regular mail delivery or in a separate, special mail delivery. Some orders may be delivered by UPS.

Because our carriers are delivering hundreds of thousands of books on that day, we do ask that you wait until 7:00 p.m. before contacting customer service if you haven't received your order.

Although we're not requiring a signature, we still recommend that someone be home to accept the package, as the driver may not leave it on your doorstep if they don't feel it's safe to do so.

You'll receive our usual shipment confirmation e-mail after your package leaves our fulfillment center.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.com, and happy reading!

Oh, man...I hope it arrives early in the day. I'll go nuts if it shows up in the late afternoon!

2 Days Until HBP

I'm getting antsy. These next two days can't fly by fast enough for me. I know I'm going to devour the book quickly and then I'll probably have a HUGE LETDOWN when I realize it'll be an extremely long wait for book 7.

I was on the Alivan's web site (makers of fine handcrafted magic wands) today. I was sorely tempted to purchase a wand or a house scarf when I found out a shop here in Littleton called Sage Moon carries Alivan's Harry Potter merchandise. A cooler head prevailed when I reminded myself that I want to start a business and move away from this trailer park dump. Perhaps by the book 7 launch party, eh?
