Gone Too Far

I am so sick of crap like this:
ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- Tag, you're out! Officials at an elementary school south of Boston have banned kids from playing tag, touch football and any other unsupervised chase game during recess for fear they'll get hurt and hold the school liable.
I've had it with this nanny society. All these school system are doing is putting out kids that can't cope with the real world.

Platte Canyon Shooting

I've been hesitant to write about what happened at Platte Canyon High School yesterday. I get a little numb with shock when things like this happen. As I sit here watching the news this morning, I have to get my thoughts out. What the hell is going on in our society? There is no known connection between the creep that did this, Duane Morrison, and the community. He killed a young woman for no reason at all. He terrorized a town for what? He didn't have any demands that we've heard. Then there's the senseless random killing of the Aurora police officer the other day. I don't/can't understand this random violence. How can a person do that? When is this insanity going to stop?

Jay Got Hitched

Dr. Phil's son, hunky Jay McGraw (swoon), got married today to one of the Dahm triplets (Erica). They met when they were doing Renovate My Family together. Awwww. Damn, he's a cutie. If I was younger, I wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating cookies. Anyway, seriously, I hope they have a happy life and stay married. Not enough celebrities are happy.

Goodbye, Eddie

Moose, the Jack Russell Terrier that played Eddie on Frasier died last Thursday. He made it to the ripe old age of 16½. He was the best character on that show (in my ever humble opinion).

Good News and Bad News

There was quite a swing of good news and bad news as I drove in to work this morning. I heard on the radio that a FedEx driver had been killed south of Larkspur when a Toyota hit it and forced it to roll over close to the Greenland exit on SB I-25. Since the KOA chopper was in the area for the crash, they were close enough to witness a dog that had fallen through the ice in a Perry Park lake. That is the subdivision where my boss lives. I passed the Larkspur firefighters leaving the scene on my way to work. I watched the first video below when I got to work and even though I knew that they had rescued the dog, I was bawling. That makes two days in a row of crying like a baby. Yesterday, I was watching Super Bowl commercials while I ate lunch and the one with the Budweiser Clydesdale foal (Clydesdale American Dream) had me turning on the waterworks.

Here's videos of the dog rescue from KCNC:
