Darned Dog

Well, I'm up now because I'm stupid. You think I'd realize that a dog of 14 years of age can't learn new tricks. We've got one of those raised up food bowls and a separate water bowl that has one of those Deep Rock-like containers to hold water that sits on floor level in an old dough tray. We got this setup because of the old Malamute we used to have. She would slop her water everywhere when she drank and had a hard time getting to her food because of her arthritis. I've been noticing that he's having a problem getting to his water for a while now. I decided yesterday to start putting his water in the other side of his food bowl (since it's raised) to help the poor guy out. Well, he won't drink the water in there. Marcus just caught him drinking out of the toilet since he apparently hasn't had water since I changed it yesterday afternnon and Marcus forgot to close the bathrroom door after he brushed his teeth. I was awakened by the dog pacing in the bathroom because he couldn't get water out of the toilet. *sigh*

A Couple of Things

A visitor to my TT had a Concert Ticket graphic for her list generated at Says-it. Hey Ash, have you seen the Chuck Norris Says... generator they have there?
Housewares Admission Ticket

There was finally an opportunity on PPP for an online printer, but this isn't exactly a business or graphics related blog, so I can't take it. Boooo!. I'm going to go ahead and link them, though, for my own future reference: BargainPrinting.com.

I want some more puzzle pieces, dang it!

Posting Problems

Man, I've had the biggest problem with making posts today. I don't know what the problem was. Several times I have had posts all typed up, only to do something totally stupid and *poof*. All gone. *sigh*

Since no new puzzle pieces have been released today, I've been spending time elsewhere on the old Internet. I found a new read on the PPP forums called Brainstorming Diva. She linked a site that I hadn't been to in a long time: FlyLady.net. There's a whole lot more content there now. The site is dedicated to helping women declutter and organize their lives. She asks if you are living in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome)? Sadly, yes I am. You'd have thunk with all the extra time I've had being unemployed that I'd be all over my housework. Nope. In fact, it's the complete opposite. I felt a little dread when I saw the Postie Patrol thing the other day. As much as I'd like them to come visit me, I don't want them seeing my house in its current state. Today was Anti-Procrastination Day on the site. While it's too late to do much today, I'm going to tackle stuff full throttle tomorrow. I'm tired of being the Queen of Procrastination. I signed up for her Yahoo group. Hopefully that extra reminder and tips will get my inspired to clean up my messes.

The Sims2 Pets expansion is out. I keep seeing commercials for it on the television. I don't have any of the Sims 2 expansions yet. I put them all on my Amazon wish list, so hopefully someone will get me one for Christmas. I haven't let myself play The Sims in ages, though. I feel stupid trying everything possible to make my Sim's life good when my own life in in such a mess, y'know?

Well, I guess that's it for now. I've got a Thursday Thirteen to compose.

Good Chili

Man, I'm a good cook, if I do say so myself. The chili came out excellent! It really hit the spot on this cold, blustery evening. I've been dragging out watching the Gilmore Girls all evening. I just don't have the enthusiasm about that show that I used to have. The show is really stupid this season and it makes me sad. I guess it's a good thing that this is supposed to be its last season. They better not pull the same crap they did with 7th Heaven, though. You don't have a series finale and then say, "Hey, we had more viewers than we thought. Maybe we should bring it back." I watched the last few episodes to see if any of those stupid, dysfunctional people actually straightened out and they didn't. I haven't watched a single episode this season.

Isn't it amazing how long permanent marker smell lasts? I used one several hours ago and the fumes are still making me woozy.

Wake Me Tomorrow

Man, I am NOT having a good day.

First, I'm dragging bad. I'm so tired, but I don't want to take a nap and mess up tonight's sleep. I haven't done squat as far as cleaning. I had good intentions this morning that are all shot to heck now.

The dog has gone totally mental. Getting him in and out to go potty is becoming an ordeal. He can't get up the steps, but he won't let you pick him up, either. When you finally chase him down, he screams like you're murdering him. *sigh* I had to run to the bank for Marcus and tried to get the dog to go out before I left. He wouldn't wake up. When I came home, however, he had pooped all over. At least it wasn't diahrrea, but still. I was only gone 30 minutes.

Why do people who have lengthy transactions insist on going throught the drive-up at the bank? If what you need to do requires sending stuff back and forth to the teller more than once, park you car and take your lazy ass inside and do it. I swear the old bag in front of me sent the cannister back six times. One time was to break a large bill the teller had given her. If you require a certain breakdown of your cash, send a little note the first time.

One of my old coworkers called today...not for me, he needed to talk to Marcus because he couldn't get his computer on their wireless network and the owner was out of town. Yeah, like I give a rat's ass that you can't do any work. You're got Marcus' number, you call him. Jerk. If he was busy and didn't answer for you, he's not going to answer for me. Marcus did call him back later and he asked Marcus how I was doing. Terrible, if you must know. I'm still unemployed, you a-hole. If you really cared squat about how I'm doing, you would call and inquire when you don't need something. Loser. Gee, I think I'm still bitter. Just when I think I'm starting to move past that anger, he calls and stirs it up again. I really wish I had never worked there.

I've only added 3 new pieces to my PPP puzzle collection today. Another postie said on the boards that he had collected 43 total (14 more than I have) and my heart fell. Turns out later he was joking, though. They are dragging this one out, though. There's at least 192 pieces, I'm guessing, and I've got 29. A lot of pieces still to be found!

No news on the job front. I'm really getting discouraged. I've been trying to find a new job for almost six months now. Whaat sucks is I know I'm smart and talented, I just can't seem to get anybody else to see it.

Something from time to time runs on my computer, hogging up the processor and memory, but I have no clue what it is. I don't have a whole heck of a lot of memory anyway (512 MB) and can't afford to buy more. It got so bad this morning, I finally closed everything down and rebooted. It seems to have helped for the time being. I wish I could figure out what it is and either disable or remove it. When Marcus moved me from my old G4 to his G5, I should've just done a clean install of the OS. Oh, well. Another day.

I still can't figure out what I did to mess up my HTML formatting buttons in my comments. Maybe fresh eyes after sleep will find the problem (or Marcus will see it right away when he comes home).
