When Will It End?

I am getting sooooooo tired of bad stuff happening to me. My astrological prediction said something was in retrograde. I just know I am so freaking tired of all of the bad luck I seem to be having lately. Dummy me was in a fog yesterday thinking about all the money I need and the lack of a second job (my car is going to cost about $700 to get fixed) and I sped right through a school zone that was being patrolled my motorcycle cops. Yippee!! I was so mad at myself because I don't normally go that way for the exact reason that it is a monitored school zone. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I went with Dad to get his new hearing aids yesterday. It was so cute how he had a smile from ear to ear about all of the "new" sounds he was hearing. Yay, Dad!!!

I was so not in the mood to work this morning. I ended up reading my school text instead of making dough, so I have to go back after school. I'm really not looking forward to that. The stupid owner wants me to make all this "test dough." The flour he wants tested is for the Utah store since there is no local supplier there to get the flour we use in Colorado. How about making the test dough in the store that will actually need to use it? Then he wants to switch from wet yeast to dry yeast. WHY??? Wet yeast is not expensive. The only problem lately has been that the stupid food service company he's trying to use has moldy yeast. I can hardly wait until I'm out of school and get a real job and tell them at the pizza place to F*** themselves.

It's cold today. Of course, dummy me left my jacket in the trunk of my car. I'm either going to gave to get a new one or wear my winter coat.

OK, well, I guess I should get back to class and stop griping. *sigh*

Why Me?

Current mood: sad bear depressed
Why does everything bad happen to a person all at once and at the times when one is less prepared to deal with them? Since I quit working at the one store because of that bonehead the owner made manager, I still haven't found a second job, so I have no money. Then I had a tooth abcess, and I had to borrow money from dad to get it pulled. Now the brakes on my car died (I've got metal grinding). I can't get a new car because I don't have income and I need to find out if the mechanic I go to will take payments so I don't kill myself driving to town. Wheeee!

To make matters worse, I found a puppy by the railroad tracks a week ago Friday. I spent a couple of hours that night trying to find someone looking for a dog and we put up a sign at the post office the very next morning. Marcus got attached right away. I stayed detached until about Tuesday night. I figured after all that time, nobody was going to claim it. Skippy really seemed to like having a little buddy around since he's been kind of lonely since we lost Ursa. I was just getting used to the idea of him being around and WHAM! -- the stupid woman who owned him called on Wednesday. She wasn't even aware that he was missing for FIVE days. I so didn't want to give him back to such an uncaring person, but he wasn't mine to keep. Of course, she brought her kids with her to pick him up and she wouldn't accept Marcus' offer to buy him from her. I was a wreck. Marcus is really torn up, too. He keeps talking about kidnapping the dog. *sigh* The saddest thing is the dog's name was Bear. Ursa's name meant bear, too. IT'S NOT FAIR!

SKIPPY AND THE PUPPY

I applied at the Cinema Grill for a server position. The job would be perfect--Friday, Saturday and Sundays only. That's probably why I won't hear back. A friend at school gave me a job lead for some home data entry. That would be even better!

Our house is for sale. I can't wait to move back to town. This time I'm so ready to leave. I used to like living out here, but since out crappy neighbors moved in, I hate it.

My Favorite Season

I forgot to mention it, but FALL IS IN THE AIR!!!!

I absolutely love the fall. Too bad it doesn't last very long in Colorado, if we even get one at all. I like a chill in the air. One that makes you grab a blankey, but doesn't make you freeze your butt off. Nina and I went to a farmer's market last weekend and I just love the sights and the smells.

Fall also means football. Ed McCaffrey is playing. WhooHoo!

Is This Actually Working?

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. Time hasn't been in abudance lately and when I do have a few spare moments to sit and write either the DNS wasn't working, the FTP wasn't working, the permissions on my site had been changed by my host, etc. It's been VERY frustrating! It's working for the moment, so since I have a couple of hours to kill I'll fill everyone in.

I'm stuck in Denver right now and I'm hanging out at my Dad's house. He's not here, though. More likely than not, he's up in Blackhawk. I have to go to this art show tonight for school and it doesn't start until 7 p.m. I was planning on work taking up most of the afternoon since there was not enough flour to make dough before school, but the food delivery guys were late and the manager was making sauce until 3:30. Since there was no possible way to get the dough done before 5 (when I need to be out of there before the rush starts), I get to make 16 batches tomorrow. Yay, me. Of course, I'll have time since I quit working at one of the stores last week. The "new" manager (actually the old assistant that I absolutely DO NOT get along with) decided to fuck with me on the very first day and I was told by the owner that I either had to deal with him or I wasn't allowed to work there anymore. Good riddance. It won't be long before that store is totally run into the ground and I wouldn't be making enough money to make it worth it anyway. Sucky thing is I need to find another part-time job soon.

Last week was my birthday and let me tell you, having a September 11th birthday really sucks ass now thanks to those losers who thought attacking America was a good thing. So, all my actual celebrating took place on other days. Marcus took me to the Stagecoach Steakhouse here in Byers for a meal and then my Dad took me to Hops Steakhouse another day. We were actually going to go to Red Lobster, but they had a broken water pipe and were closed. We had a birthday get-together the Saturday between Mike's and my birthdays to exchange gifts and had a wonderful meal prepared by Nina. Then I went to Beau Jo's on Saturday with Marcus, Mike & Nina. Finally, Dad and I went to Sam Taylor's BBQ on Tuesday. Dang, I ate well that week.

Marcus has an appointment with a real estate guy tomorrow. We're going to try to sell the old mobile home again and move back to town. Neither of us thinks we can deal with another winter of driving to work on the open plains. Besides, I'm tired of wasting 14 hours of my week driving to and from town alone, nevermind the intown driving. I also want to host my own website. I'm tired of the incompetence of my current host.

Skippy is starting to act up. I had a feeling that he would when he realized he was alone. That's another reason I want to move back to town. I want to spend more time with my dog. He's 10 and I don't know how much longer he'll be around. It's going to be weird not having Skippy around. Marcus and I got him six months after we got together and we'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary next month. He's lived everywhere that we have. *sigh* Well, I'd best not think about that now. Too depressing.

School is going well. There are a couple of new people in our class that drive me nuts. One woman in particular has the "fake modesty" where she claims what she is doing is bad to fish for compliments. That drives me crazy. Oh, well. The two dudes I was complaining about a couple of weeks ago that didn't do their projects were thrown out of school. Yay! It's nice to be going to a place that isn't in it just for the money and holds the students to standards. It's very refreshing after that CollegeAmerica fiasco.

Well, I guess that's about it for now. I'd better post this while I can.

Update tomorrow

I've had so much to say, but between the lack of time and the dorks that host my site screwing up the permssions so that I couldn't get in and then the dns not working right, I haven't been able to update. So, I hope I'll have time tomorrow. wink
