Current mood:
indescribable
Sorry about the lack of real posts the last two weeks. I've been in one of my funks. Anyway, I just finished writing five essays today for my class this evening. I don't think I've been so happy to be done with something I didn't want to do in a really long time. I didn't get much out of this class. It's my own fault, not the teacher's. I just have not been in a school frame of mind. I didn't do most of the workbook homework and my essays are not my best writing. I actually had a quiz a couple of weeks ago where I got several answers wrong. That's just not me. I'll be lucky if I pull a B out of this one, I think. That'll be the first B I've had in ages. Oh, well. Thankfully, tonight is the last night of this class.
I've been working on my Expression Engine template, so that should go live this weekend sometime. I finally had to close comments on all my old posts here because the spam was so out of control.
We're going to go get our Christmas tree on Saturday. I had really hoped to be working by then, but I'm such a loser that nobody'll hire me for even a cashier job. *sigh* I'll be posting more of my stuff on eBay tomorrow. There are rumors at work that there might not be bonuses this year. I hope they're false, or nobody's getting presents this year.
Anyway, I've got to get off to school.

sick
Sorry there has been nothing but a couple of fluff posts the last couple of weeks. Between being sick and stressed and poor, I haven't felt like typing about it. I have, however, read a lot of Harry Potter fanfic and played a lot of solitaire. Oh, and I took a couple of classes at
Archivers. That was fun. I've been saying I was going to go take classes ever since they first opened the Aurora store and that was over a year ago. I think I enjoyed the Holiday Paper Crafting one the best. We made a gift bag and a tag. The classes really push buying products, but hey, the classes are free.
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Dad and I went shopping today for all the main stuff (turkey, potatoes, etc.). I'll have to get the perishable stuff (egg nog, etc) next week. That's so cool that you can get 23 lb. turkeys at King Soopers for $8. Dad and I each bought one so that we're set for either Christmas or New Year's, too.
Semi-bad news on the school front. I've been thinking that I should quit once I get the class I need to finish my associate's degree and get on with my life (do I really need two bachelor degrees?). I've been waffling because there are some classes I still really wanted to take, but they're offered almost a year from now. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend money on a bunch of general ed-type classes. Well, I guess the powers that be made the choice for me. I'm almost at the cap for financial aid (thanks to all that money wasted going to that POS school CollegeAmerica). The financial aid lady says there is enough to take the class I still need, but not much more. *sigh* I don't really want any of the rest of the classes badly enough to find alternate funding, y'know? This has totally killed any ounce of enthusiasm I had for this Communication class I'm taking now. Top that off with the teacher assigning double chapters to be due next class period (the day before Thanksgiving) and having to take a make-up class on a Friday night to make up for a class she missed, I'm just not into it any more. Oh, and I finally wrote my paper about that movie Smoke. God, that was one drawn-out movie. It took my three times to get all the way through it because I kept losing interest.
I want to start my own business. All the signs are telling me I need to do this. Does anybody have $50,000 I can borrow?
OK, I guess I'll wrap this for now because I just realized it's almost midnight and I need to get up early. I've got to get two day's work done in the morning so I don't have to work on Sunday and I need to be out of there by 9 am so I don't run into my @ssh0le manager. I'm also going to have to scrape the car because it has started snowing. WhooHooo. Damn, I just remember I forgot to put gas in the car. Dang it!

God, this day totally SUCKED!
First, I didn't sleep well because I have a tooth that's aching bad and really needs to come out. I think the cough drops I've been sucking lately because of a cough I've developed set the tooth off. Sadly, I have no money to get the tooth out. I'm starting to wish I hadn't gone on vacation right now. I've gotten myself into a bad financial hole.
Anyway, today I went to work, stopped to look in a scrapbook store, called Marcus to see if he wanted to have lunch (he already was eating), I was on my way home and my battery light came on, I had no power steering and I lost all the instruments on my panel (speedometer, turn signal, tachometer). I tried to make it back to the store to do tomorrow's dough, but I didn't make it. Marcus came to save me, we discovered I had lost a belt and was ready to lose another. We went to get new belts to get me home, but it turns out that my engine pully actually broke. Nice, huh? So, had to get towed to the shop. My insurance only covers a 15-mile tow and the mechanic was 17 miles away. Marcus had to pick up the extra $6. When I got to the shop, my mechanic was out sick today and I had to deal with his Russian shop guys that don't speak English. Yay. Of course, being broke, I have no idea how I'm going to pay the mechanic when he does get my car fixed.
Dad picked me up from the mechanic and bought me lunch. I borrowed his car to go back to work to do tomorrow's dough. There wasn't enough flour to finish, so I get to go back in the morning. Booooooo. I didn't get home until 6:30 pm. I was gone for 14 hours straight. So much for getting anything else done today.
So, my tooth hurts, I've been sniffling and coughing all day, I'm out of NyQuil, I didn't get a nap this afternoon (so I'm grumpy), and I don't get to sleep in tomorrow like I hoped. Oh, well. I'm going to watch the Apprentice and go to bed.

excited
Hey, there's a lunar eclipse going on right now. I absolutely love these things. Of course, I love full moons, too. I tried to get some pics, but there is a thin cloud layer out tonight. Oh, well. There's another one in 2007 or something. Maybe I'll have a tripod and a telephoto lens for my camera by then! LOL
Tomorrow is Marcus and my
12th anniversary. Wow, sometimes it seems like just yesterday that we met and other days it feels like a lifetime. It is hard to believe that he still puts up with me and still loves me after all this time. I'm a lucky lady.
A
woman's body was found Monday by a dumpster behind the place where I used to work. I drove by there that morning on my way back from something I wanted to check out on Wadsworth and saw all the police cars blocking off the shopping center. I thought maybe the liquor store had been burglarized or something. I had no idea they had found a body until I was on the highway on the way home. I hope they find the creeps that did that to that poor woman. It creeped me out because I used to have no qualms about heading out into that alley to take out trash in the early morning when I worked there. (shudder)
I really want the new new
iPod Photo. That is so cool that you can display the album art while you listen to your pod. It's neat that you can carry your photo library with you, too. It can be plugged into a TV to make slide shows for your friends and relatives. Too cool. I think the
U2 iPod is kind of dumb, but then, I hate U2. I guess it's a neat thing if you're a U2 fan.
I need to rent some movie called
Smoke and write a report for next week's communication class. I had never heard of it. I hope it is a decent movie. Has anybody ever seen it?
The
Boston Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series. Yay, now I can get back to watching That 70s Show on Fox.
Have I mentioned that I'm in heavy duty Harry Potter withdrawl?

So, just out of curiosity the other night, Marcus was looking up the price of land in Bumpus Mill, TN (where we went fishing). You can get an acre of lakefront property for $5 grand or less. Hm, it would be tempting if Bumpus Mills was actually close to anything besides Fort Campbell, KY. I would be soooo bored living there. There isn't even a Starbucks close by, that's how rural it is. We'd have to go back to satellite Internet, too. No thanks. I reminded Marcus that there are no real mountains to go mountain biking, closest civilization is Nashville, no friends close by, no tech work.
If only lakefront land in Colorado cost $5,000 an acre.
