A gal at work sent me an email last night that made me giggle. It kind of sums of the whole way I've been all week:
Changing A Light Bulb (PMS Version)
Q: How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb?
A: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? Because no one else
in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that
the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before
they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to
find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD
for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually
find them 2 DAYS LATER, the chair they dragged to stand on to change the
STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT
WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE STUPID LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE
EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED
FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!!
IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS HOUSE!
I'm sorry.... What was the question?

The following image was submitted to me today from our dear friend Mikey:
In case you didn't know, Marcus delights in capturing pics of his friends whizzing in the woods.

I was just going through some books in my bookshelf looking for something when I came across an old yearbook (1991-92) from when I was teaching. It got me to pondering what the hell has happened to me since then.
I used to consider myself to be pretty. I've always been heavy, but I took care of myself and I felt good. True, I hated the whole teaching situation (I liked working with kids, but I HATED the whole organized education institution), but I still liked me. I don't even know if I like me anymore. I've gotten lazy, selfish, and even a bit mean to some people (as was pointed out by Marcus the other day). I thought then that he was full of it, but just yesterday I caught myself being a total bitch to someone I really don't know that well.
I have so much potential, but yet I fail to realize it. Why?

Every summer
Platt College has a picnic for the faculty, staff and students. Last year I had just started classes when the picnic rolled around, so I didn't know anybody and didn't have a real good time. This year I had a blast. I got a little sunburned in our 100°F+ heat today. The coolest thing that occurs at this is the college president, Jerry, lets the students throw water balloons and wet spongeballs at him. I've posted some pictures
here.

I was just watching "Passions" on my Dish (we've got the East/West coast packages) and the program was interrupted by news of a car that had plowed through a Santa Monica, CA farmer's market. Several people were killed, many more injured. An elderly man driving a maroon car was at fault. Some witnesses think he was having a heart attack. Others say the man seemed fine. They just interviewed the police chief Butts and he said it was the worst accident he'd seen in 30 years. He said the most horrific part was a crushed two-year-old child. How tragic. I really hope this wasn't intentional.
