I have just arrived home after spending the afternoon at my friend Nina's house. Her 25th birthday was the 5th and she had planned a gathering for the 7th, but dumb-assed me has been so out of it from being sick that I totally forgot to ask for it off from work. So I worked while everyone else took a
trip to the zoo. Marcus had never been to the Denver Zoo before, and apparently he had a really good time.

Today we had pizza from Pizza Hut. Mike's iguana,
Gorgo, decided to take a flying leap off of his perch and landed right in the middle of my plate. He grabbed my breadstick and took off running. It was the funniest thing ever. After we ate, we played several hands of Uno, had cheese pie and ice cream, and listened to some South Park songs while Nina opened her gifts.
I'm still not feeling up to snuff. The antibiotics I'm on are causing a yeast infection. Yay. Last night, while I was working, I was running a fever that was causing my windows to fog up. I didn't want to take anything to bring the fever down because I want the germs in me to DIE! I will be so glad when I finally get over this crap.

I received this awhile back in my email:
SUBJECT: POEM FOR COMPUTER USERS OVER 40
A computer was something on TV
From a Science Fiction show of note,
A window was something you hated to clean
And ram was the father of a goat.
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was a job for the nights
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bytes.
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano.
A Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3-in. floppy
You hoped nobody found out.
Compress was something you did to the garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for a while.
Log on was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode.
Cut you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu.
I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head.
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens they wish they were dead.

I should be in bed, but I'm having too much fun playing with my new
photo gallery. It's a pretty cool photo album management system that I downloaded from
here. It's going to take awhile to get the photos I want in there, but dang it's a cool tool. Marcus helped me get it configured on our very own
server. Yay!!!!

Man, I haven't gotten to do one of these in ages.
1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not?
I had oatmal with raisins.
2. What's your favorite cereal?
Oatmeal Crisp Raisin
3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?
Not near enough. I haven't been out to eat (except fast food) in weeks. I would really like to do it once a week.
4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that?
Dinner tonight will probably be leftover pizza at work.
5
. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?
I LOVE steakhouses like Hops. I love steak, 'nuff said. Red Lobster is pretty cool, too, though.

Dang, I'm actually feeling somewhat better today. I sure hope this means the worst is over. I've been sick for two weeks now and it has totally sucked ass.
One more day of the hands-on type classes (I have to turn in my final project and take the final exam) and then I move on to the computers. I'm so psyched about that! It can't be soon enough. The sooner I learn the computer graphics skills, the sooner I can find work. I am so hating work right now. The owner installed these cameras all over the store. Basically the only place you can't be seen is in the walk-in or the restroom. I didn't really have a problem with them until I realized the head manager sits and watches them when he gets to work. Then, instead of confronting the person he feels is doing stuff that's not cool, he writes notes for the whole store to read. Morale is at an all-time low and I personally am feeling violated. To make matters worse, we're understaffed again and so customer service isn't what it should be. It won't be long before the customers quit calling again. *sigh*
Actually, I'm supposed to be at work now, but I'm dawdling. I've got so much other stuff that I need/want to do. I hate how work always gets in my way. Oh, well. Guess I better get moving.
