As I was watching television this evening (I missed The Big Bang Theory, though, *sob*), I caught one of the new Apple Mac ads. They've released three new ones. The main focus now is the miserable failure of Vista and the release of Leopard. They're hilarious!
I will say that I'm not a fan of the new iMacs, though. There's too much glare on the screen and those new keyboards just feel yucky.
They finally released some Mythbusters on iTunes and Marcus purchased some. Yay! I'm watching one as I type here. It's one of the few shows I've really missed since we got rid of all but the most basic of stations on our Dish.
Video gaming has long been a source of entertainment in this household. Actually, a lot longer than Marcus' and my relationship. My very first video game experience was playing a neighbor's Atari Pong console back in the '70s. One of our first couples gaming experiences was playing mini-golf and Leisure Suit Larry on his old Amiga machine. We used to challenge each other by playing Super Mario World on our SNES nightly to unwind after work. Marcus games weekly online with his friends playing Call of Duty. Heck, we even have a full-size Playstation store demonstration unit in our living room. It should be no surprise then that we want to get a WII. We played with Mike and Nina one evening over at their apartment and that is the most awesome gaming console ever!
When we finally get one, I found an online store where I can get WII video games called Game Quest Direct. They boast the largest selection of new and rare video games on the 'net. If you're looking for discontinued titles (such as Resident Evil 2 for Nintendo Game Cube or Mortal Kombat Trilogy for PS), this is the place to check first. I'm seeing a couple of cool titles that I'd like to get for our old Playstation.
Game Quest Direct offers weekly price slash coupons on their main page, so check often to see if the game you want is on sale. In addition, there are $10 off Halo 3 preorder specials in the following video.
I'm a horrible cell phone owner. I swore that when I got my camera phone, I was going to add cool ring tones so that everyone in my phone book could have their own unique ring and I would take pictures and do lots of moblogging. Frankly, typing without a keyboard is a pain and it takes me so long, I figure I may as well just call someone. LOL
Actually, I have been practicing texting and getting a little better at it. Now I need to find some Free Ringtones. I learned of a cool site where I can get media for my phone. It's a site called Cellfish that describes itself as a community where members can share media via phones and computers. It's a free site to join, though they have premium paid content. Once you join, you have a "Digital Locker" where you upload your content. You can upload to images, ringtones or videos from your computer, by using a web address or by emailing from your phone. I uploaded this photo that was on my computer that I took on my phone and sent to myself via email.
You see that cool little cell phone icon in the corner? That allows you to download this image to your own phone. All you do is click on it, put in your cell number (if you phone can receive images) and that it! I don't know why you'd want this picture of me and Marcus, but you could have it if you want it! I'm off to see if any of the Free Ringtones availabe fits Marcus. I'm amazed at how much content there is to go through over there. A feature I really like is that you just have to hover your mouse over the ringtone to hear it. You can also sort content by most downloaded, member ratings, etc. It's going to make finding cool stuff so much easier.
Marcus and I ran up to the Aspen Grove Apple Store after I got off of work today and got a family license of iLife. He surprised me by getting me a year of my very own .mac account so that I can play with the photo gallery feature. He's the coolest!
We checked out the new iMacs while we were there. They're very pretty. Oh, and I played with an iPhone. Must. Win. Lottery.
Apple's iLife '08 was just released. Marcus and I were watching a bit of the special presentation on Apple's site during lunch today. It seems to have some really cool new features. We took off for the Cherry Creek Apple Store right after I got off of work and they were all out. So Marcus called Aspen Grove and was told they had plenty. He headed up there after he got off work and the employee on the phone was apparently smoking crack. No iLife for Marcus today. Boooo!
Do you want to know why I don't do web design for a living even though I studied it? IE. Yep, that stupid web browser...the spawn of the browser world let forth upon this earth by those jerks over at Microsoft. It is its own monster. I hate making a perfect good layout that looks absolutely lovely in every browser known to man EXCEPT Internet Explorer. I then hate wasting hours upon hours trying to figure out why things won't line up by one pixel. Grrrrr.
What is it about supercars like the Bugatti Veyron or the Jaguar XJ220 that makes heads turn and hearts race? Is it the aerodynamic body styling, the awe inspiring beauty of the design, the refined engineering under the hood or the imagined thrill of taking one of those speed demons on a ride of your own? There is certainly a level of prestige attached to such a vehicle.
We print a couple of high-end auto magazines where I work and I'm not the only one drooling over the vehicles after each issue comes off the press. Even if I had the money, though, I doubt I would purchase such a vehicle (though I wouldn't turn down the opportunity to own a Mustang Mach 1).
Since the majority of the general population will never be able to own such a fine piece of automotive machinery, VCARS, a network of UK auto dealer websites to aid consumers looking for Used Cars, has made available on their website a collection of Supercar wallpapers and screensavers for you to download and use on your computer. My personal favorite amongst the 10 shown on that page is the Lamborghini Murcielago. Marcus and I were driving on Hwy. 83 down by Colorado Springs once (doing about 60 mph) when a Lamborghini passed us like we were sitting still. It blew my mind. If none of those cars suit your fancy, they have offerings for many different make and models of cars.
While you're there, check out their Motoring News section where you can stay up to date on all the automotive related news.
