Three weeks ago I wrote about a
Mediflow Waterbase Pillow and today I went to J.C. Penney's and bought one. I saw on
Laura's site that the company was offering a $5 rebate and it turns out the Penney's also had them on sale this week. I took it as a sign that I was meant to get one. Of course, the Penney's by my house doesn't stock them. I had to go to Park Meadows Mall. Gah, I hate that place.
Even though I've been exhausted, I just can't sleep. Part of it, I know, is my pillow. I figure that if this little investment makes me actually sleep, it will be so worth it. I have been in the worst mood this week, all due to lack of sleep due to the Blogathon and my insomnia.
I've only put my head on it for a short bit, but so far it feels good. We'll know for sure tomorrow morning.

Millions of Americans deprive themselves of one essential thing needed for a healthy lifestyle on an almost daily basis: sleep.
Between our inability to deal with stress, poor eating habits, not enough physical activity, over packed schedules, allergies, sleep apnea, traffic noise...I could go on, but I think you get where I'm going with people not getting enough quality sleep.
We're supposed to get at least 8 hours a day. I can't remember the last time I actually slept more than 6 hours all in a row.
Sleep is when our bodies recharge, rebuild damaged tissue and archive our memories.
Sleep deprivation causes moodiness, lack of concentration, shortened attention spans and lower immunity. It can even stunt the growth of young children. Is it any wonder we have such a horrible road rage problem on our American Highways.
Speaking of sleep...one hour to go and I can get some. My eyes are starting to cross.

Regular readers of this blog know that I suffer from horrible bouts of insomnia. While I'm sure a lot of it is stress related, part of it is due to the fact that I just can't get comfortable to sleep. I haven't had a really comfy pillow in years. I sleep on my side and it has always been recommended that I should use a firmer pillow, but if they're too firm (or too soft) it aggravates the injury I sustained to my neck from the rear-end traffic accident I was in three years ago. I've found a pillow that I definitely want to try. It's called the
Mediflow pillow. They claim their patented water based pillow design will reduce neck pain and improve the quality of sleep.
The degree of support of this pillow is determined by how much water is added to the core and can be adjusted by simply adding or removing water. It also has a hypoallergenic fiber covering which is important for allergy sufferers such as myself.
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine performed a clinical trial of pillows and ranked the Mediflow Waterbase® Pillow best in all areas tested such as how fast people fell asleep, how few times the participants woke up during the night and the overall quality of sleep.
What's great is that it can be ordered online at either Target or JCPenney. It's also showing that I can purchase it at one of the Denver metro area JCPenney locations not too far from here.
I'm really getting tired of fluffing my pillow at night, using two or more pillows that have compacted and still not being able to sleep comfortably and waking up every morning with neck pain. It's been a really long time since I've had a good night's sleep. I'm definitely going to give this pillow a try.

I know I bitch and moan about this every year, but I hate screwing around with the time. Pair moving the time change up three weeks with my period hitting (which always physically drains me) and I've been a mess all week. I'm exhausted but my body won't go to sleep earlier, either. How lame is that? It's a good thing I was doing mindless type of tasks at work today or I could've royally screwed something up. Plus, like I said earlier, it was 74°F this afternoon, so I caught a little bit of spring fever to boot. I hope I can get to sleep at a decent hour tonight.
Well, I'd better quit blabbing and go make dinner.

Well, as you probably guessed by the previous post, I'm awake early for a Saturday morning. I didn't go to bed until almost midnight, so this stinks. I awoke with heartburn and a horribly sore throat a little before 5 am. I just can't shake the sickness totally and it's really pissing me off. I am hoping that after a bit of web surfing, the ibuprofen will soothe the pain in my throat and I can sleep again.
It also snowed as expected last night and it's a bit windy right at the moment. Yuck. It's a little chilly back here in the craft room where my computer is and the power keeping flickering. *sigh* I need to head to WalMart, but I guess that will wait until tomorrow morning since I don't feel like driving in snow or clearing off the car. I'm certainly not fighting Saturday shoppers later in the day.
I'm kind of annoyed with my bank right now. Their customer service really blows. I'm not going to share what happened, but I'm fed up. I think I need to start shopping for a new bank.
