Too Much Traffic

I'm really hating to have to travel anywhere in the Denver Metro area. Between traffic congestion and road construction, there is no good time to be out on the road. I went to have lunch with Marcus (in exchange for getting his paycheck to put it in the bank before 3pm). I left home around 12:30ish. First, it took 45 minutes just to drive the 18-20 miles away to his workplace. There was a minor accident on I-25. Big whoop. After we got past the accident, would people accelerate up to the speed limit? Oh, hell no! Then, when I got there, they had the street in front of his workplace all torn up and I couldn't even get into his parking lot. After we ate, it took forever to get back to his work because of this jacked up construction that's been going on for over a year at Evans/Broadway. I had three small errands to run on the way back: 1) put his check in the bank; 2) make my car payment; and 3) stop and buy toilet paper. That's all. It took and hour and a half to make my way back across town doing those errands before I finally got home. Grrrr. It's no wonder road range is rampant. I was so frazzled when I got home, it wasn't even funny. What's stupid is, the height of rush hour didn't even used to start until 4pm when I was younger. Now, it doesn't matter. You can have a total traffic snarl at 3 in the morning. It's totally out of control.

The Job Hunt

So, the situation is getting dire. I emailed the placement lady this morning to see if she has any leads and to let her know that I'm starting to panic because of absolutely no income. She tells me not to panic, this process takes time. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB SINCE MARCH AND I'VE BEEN UNEMPLOYED SINCE JULY--HOW MUCH MORE TIME DO YOU THINK I HAVE??!!!! I know she's trying to be helpful, but it wasn't. I had a small glimmer of hope that I'll still find my true calling. I watched a video of the Fly Lady being interviewed. She didn't start that program until she was 40 and look at how successful she is now. Oh, universe...please show me what I'm supposed to be doing. In the meantime, help me find a job so that I can continue to pay my bills. Thanks.

Natural Health and Beauty Products

One thing I miss since the Coomers crafts malls went out of business is the one seller who had a booth with Burt's Bees products. Burt's Bees produces a really good lip balm. Sure, you can go to the health food stores to get some of them, but I really hate going there. For some reason, I feel out of place. I found a great online site called N101 Nutrition that not only carries a lot of products in the Burt's Bees line, but many other well-known brands of nutritional supplements, vitamins, herbs, sports nutrition and natural beauty products. That reminds me that I really need to find a new vitamin supplement. I'm almost out of mine and though it worked pretty well, it was really expensive. Fortunately, this site offers everyday low pricing and many of their items include volume discounts. N101 Nutrition also has a rewards program where you earn 1 point for every dollar spent that can later be redeemed for select product discounts or free merchandise.

Besides just listing the products for sale, the company provides detailed information including ingredients and facts about each one. There are also many articles and guides to help you choose the right products or to get more information about health and supplement topics. I'm definitely going to be delving further into this site.

I Hate Repeats

The Office is a repeat tonight...already? What the hell? I really hate the way network television works anymore. It used to be every show premiered the same week, had a half season run, did repeats around the holidays, came back in January with new shows or those that tanked were replaced. During those repeat times, you could watch shows on other networks that you missed. Now? Who knows? They start the season whenever they feel like it, none of the networks are the same. Even a single network doesn't have all of its shows on the same schedule. One show during an evening might be new and the one right after a repeat. It's dang frustrating, I tell you.

I watched all of the Ugly Betty episodes on ABC's website today. Several people around the net have raved about it, so I checked it out. It wasn't bad. Not something I would care much if I missed, but not bad. I caught up with Jericho finally. I still get the willies every time they talk about Denver having been hit or Denver's not there anymore. *shudder*

I really need to whittle down my sidebar. I'm sick of how long it is. I may just make myself a links page or something and take all of that extra crap out of there. Hmmm. Gonna have to think on that one.

OK, I guess I'd better go. My darned mouse is dying and I need to charge it.

Firefox 2.0

I went ahead and installed Firefox 2.0 today. I wasn't even aware that it was available yet. Marcus mentioned it last night, so I checked it out. I haven't noticed a problem so far. There is a build-in form spell checker that will hopefully help me catch some of the errors in typing that I've been having lately. There were only two extensions I have installed that weren't compatible and one of those is now a built-in feature. The other just allows you to manage stuff in the search bar, so hopefully it will get updated soon. If not, I don't use it much, so no real loss. The only thing I was really worried about was that Sage extension that I installed yesterday. I spent a lot of time putting links into that thing. Works great still!

I'm going to go lay down for a bit. I have a huge headache and horrible cramps.
