Domestic Geek

Current mood: exhausted
Well, I did it. I gave my portfolio presentation at school last night. I'm soooo tired right now. I worked on it continuously from the time I got home from school Monday (minus a break for dinner and a miniscule hour of sleep) until about 5 p.m. Tuesday. Then I had to quickly get dressed and be to the school by 6. I was so tired that I forgot to eat yesterday. I'm sure my stomach will realize that in the middle of class today. Then, when I got home about 9:45 ish last night, I was so tired that I couldn't sleep. I just sat like a zombie in front of the television.

The first guy that presented was in the bachelor program and some of the stuff he presented was so totally awesome. He's also a design god, but that's a whole other issue. I'm actually considering pursuing another bachelor degree to get the more advanced design classes. Then maybe I can take the multimedia classes that I wanted, too. I'll have to talk to the admissions guys in the next couple of days about that. The best part is that I'll probably only have class a couple of nights a week since most of my general ed classes from UNC will transfer and I can still find a design day job. Maybe I can start that after the first of next year. I also got a tip last night about someone looking for a freelance copywriter for a web site. I hope that works out. I sure would like something to get my foot in the door, y'know?

So, I'm supposed to have my Zen Garden submission ready by the end of class today. I don't think that's happening. Oh, well. Maybe next module after getting this portfolio off my back and things with Marcus not seeming so unstable, I'll have my sh*t together enough to get my projects completed on time.

Well, that's an update on me for now. I've got to get to class.

Yay, there was no school today!! I can't believe I'm 37 and still get excited about snow days. I don't know why the school was closed, the snow wasn't really that bad. Maybe the president decided to close due to the fact that a lot of the staff commutes from the mountains. Who knows? I'm just glad I didn't have to go today so I could work on my portfolio.

The bad part of this is that I don't get to stay home all day. I have to leave for work soon and am scheduled to drive tonight, too. Booooo! Oh, well. Hopefully people will be more generous than last night.

On "Call for Help" yesterday, Cat had a bunch of sites where you could get special deals and coupon codes for sites on the internet.

OMG, I just saw the funniest Dairy Queen commercial for their new CheeseQuake Blizzard line. It has a guy holding a little kid in one of those front carriers and the kid is trying to take his blizzard. He's says "no, it's for daddy" and then the kid kicks him in the crotch and then head butts him in the chin. That was too funny.
